
The traveling cable, which can be flat or circular-shaped, is a cable used for communication between the controller and the elevator car as well as for power supply to the elevator car. The cable hangs from the elevator vehicle and is typically, if not always, black.
A logic device is another name for an elevator controller, which is a computer-based device. This gadget is necessary for an elevator to function properly. The controller keeps an eye on the systems, receives signals from the elevator, and broadcasts signals to control the various parts.

Rope elevators are regular elevators that are effectively raised and lowered by an electric traction device that balances the vehicle against counterweights using a wire rope. The rope elevators, which include a traction machine and a controller situated in the machine room on the rooftop, are the most often used variety.
Fiber core, or FC. Typically, natural or synthetic fibers are used to make the core of elevator wire ropes. Sisal is exclusively used in NFC (natural fiber core) ropes with diameters greater than 8 mm (5/16"). Ropes with a diameter of 8 mm (5/16") or less or for special orders are made with synthetic fiber cores made of polypropylene.
