Can't go to China University of Science and Technology. Can't go to science and technology University.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of Sun Yat-sen University, Featured alumni  Hong Kong Polytechnic Vocational University and the Chinese University of Hong Kong?

The first conclusion:

Can't go to China University of Science and Technology. Can't go to science and technology University.

I stress that I do not look down upon CUHK and Polytechnic. On the contrary, I love both schools and I am proud to have been a Chinese adult. It's just that the university environment in Hong Kong and mainland China is so different that I had no choice before. Now I want to remind my brothers and sisters that it is better to go out to study.

To make the above conclusions clear, I would like to summarize my undergraduate experience at both schools.

The first two years in CUHK are the university I want, and the last two years in Hong Kong are the growth I want.

Because we do not know the subject of liberal arts, we will not discuss the ranking of learning professional ability, and only talk about the comprehensive development comparison between SYSU and several universities in Hong Kong.

SYSU is the top 10 university in China, not so good, at least it is also the first university in South China. There is no shortage of teachers. Their qualifications are no less than those of the Hong Kong Polytechnic/Department of Chinese, and may even be exceptional. Soft power in large, but key universities are not teachers of this point. It is true that a good professor may stimulate your thirst for knowledge, but in most universities, the most practical thing to say is that the teacher leads the way and the practice is personal. At least in these three schools, I can assure you. Professors average five or six hours of class a day, and they literally fly off the stage, learning not in class, but after class. In fact, in college you will find a lot of diligent students around you, make it clear before class, listen to this class just to confirm a few questions.

I understand that. In fact, the most important thing about university is the learning atmosphere of students around you and the opportunities that university can provide. For science and engineering students, hardware facilities will be added. Why do you say so? There are several reasons.

A person's self-control is really limited. The high school environment encourages everyone to study hard, the subject level has been greatly improved, and they know how to ask questions. I just think you are a studious baby. But college is completely different, because if you're not motivated to learn, you'll be lazy beyond belief. I mean, no matter how many vows and plans you make before you go to college, before the semester even starts, there's really not much I can accomplish this semester. It's easy to get lost in college if you don't know what you want to study in the first place and don't know how to motivate yourself. After all, in life, no one wants to relax a little, copy homework, review can also pass, this psychology is universal in the university.

This is when we say that the learning atmosphere of the students around us is too important. These three schools are relatively free schools, unlike some universities in the north have morning and evening study teachers. Cuhk counsellors deal with hundreds of students on their own. Unless you want to kill yourself, almost no one will talk to you. I am studying in the School of Chemistry in CUHK and there are not many courses. I'm a poor student. I spend an average of one and a half hours a day studying outside of class, and can basically cope with the usual courses, homework and experiment reports. The week before the exam, I was cramming at the moment, and the GPA of CUHK was 3.5, not too good or too bad, but barely enough to apply for the United States. Good students are good. I must have a perfect GPA. I go to the library every day and study on average five or six hours more than I do (I estimate). Well, that's beside the point. Let's get back to business. It is almost certain that you will meet the most important friends of your life in college, and you will have the happiest four years of your life. You don't have to worry about food and clothing. The social pressure hasn't come yet. Have lots of time to do the things you love, have a relationship, or even just have fun. No problem, but the only guarantee is that during these four years, you will not abandon your studies simply for the pursuit of happiness. After all, learning Chinese characters is the first thing in college. Even in CUHK, there are many boys' dormitories open every day, and many girls' dormitories talk about drama and visit Taobao every day, and their resumes are black after graduation. To put it bluntly, there are many such people. As a result, many students turn freedom into undisciplined. Such a good dormitory atmosphere, or a few good friends can urge each other to study, is really rare in college.

Cuhk students themselves are very talented, can be admitted to most of the students are strong, but a university social life environment can give the choice is too much, want to try everything, but forget their study.

Compared to development, Hong Kong university students have a shorter semester, usually 13 weeks of course teaching ends, and 15 weeks of practical semester ends. The 20-week semester at CUHK is too long. The changes brought by this have a very obvious impact. There is not much difference between the teachers of several colleges and universities in the courses of undergraduate majors, at least in the classes of major and basic education subjects, it can be said that they do not make differences. It is also common for sports departments of different schools to set up different cultures for elective courses. However, as a university in Hong Kong, China, the same content is compressed into about 2 hours of learning, which is actually a lot of pressure in study and life. Each course in CUHK has two exams, mid-term and final. Universities in Hong Kong generally need to use the test system. The realization of two tests and one final exam in just three months, starting from the third and fourth week of the semester and continuing to the end of the semester, is the reality of universities in Hong Kong. More importantly, some university students in Hong Kong do not have a make-up examination system. If you fail, you have to retake it. If you fail the basic accounting course, you may have to retake it so that you can't continue with the advanced management course. Therefore, in Hong Kong, failing is a very serious matter, and it is very likely to be delayed. Therefore, the score of each test (usually about 25% of the total score) becomes very important. It is fair to say that Hong Kong's compact semester system provides a better atmosphere for study activities for most people. In this way, the learning resource environment can get the learning behavior habits that continue to the high school information retention, and will not make the university too lazy and relaxed.

I can talk with you about my study experience in Hong Kong in the last two years. It is no exaggeration to say that for the entire two years, including weekends, there must be an average of 12 hours of study time per day. At the peak, at that time, I had to prepare for GRE and FYP. I studied 17h+ hours a day and only slept four or five hours. When you get to college and you think of this answer, take a look at it, and you'll understand what level it is. I wish I could inspire you again.
